Dorm Room Delights is a new mini-series dedicated to all the little treats you can make in a dorm room. I know most of you don't live in a dorm room but, you can still make these snacks using just the bare minimums of cooking supplies. For example, this little treat was made using only a plate and a microwave. Dorm Room Delights is an attempt to prove that college life isn't all Ramen and Poptarts. All of these recipes come to life with the help of my wonderful roommate, Amy. In all honesty, this idea is 100% hers and she ran screaming into the bathroom while I was in the shower to tell me about it.
So in honor of dorm living, we present you with Pizza Crackers.
Crackers of choice
pepporoni ( we used turkey pepperoni)
a cheese stick or cheese
1. Lay out all of your crackers on a plate and top them with two pepperoni.
I know that using a bright pink plate isn't exactly the most beautiful way to photograph food and is not at all what you are used to in bloggy-world. This is real life people. Not every dorm room is equipped with fine china. So, embrace the pink plate.
2. Cut your cheese sticks into chunks and top the crackers.
3. Microwave for 20 seconds, making sure that all the cheese chunks are balancing on the pepperoni.
4. After 20 seconds, check the crackers and adjust the toppings if needed so that they don't fall off. Microwave for 20 more seconds or until the cheese is melted.
I know this recipe is the simplest of simple but, it makes for a good snack if you are low on materials and craving something warm. We are thinking about experimenting with a bit of salsa on them to make up for the tomato component of pizza.
Let me know if you try it!
