25. Get An Apartment

Hello everyone! This is a post that I have been waiting to do since I started blogging a few years ago. My mother says I have been ready to have my own apartment since I was 12 years old. Well, I'm 19 now and finally ready. I've had the keys for about a week now and have been eagerly waiting for move in day for a few months. On Saturday, I could finally say the day had come. I gave a sneak peak of the apartment unfurnished in my last post about Alec's Birthday. This is also one of my goals on my list of 40 things to do before I turn 20. Here are some photos (finally) of moving day and the beginnings of setting up my very first apartment! Notice the cat in the above picture.

"My mother says I have been ready to have my own apartment since I was 12 years old."

She ended up sneaking into the truck and wanting to go along for the ride. We didn't let her, of course.

Here are my three favorite men in the world helping to unload the truck, an hour and half away from my parents home.

This is my great grandmother's dining room table. We had to take it all apart to get it into the apartment, but the joy that having this table brings me is unparalleled. We also have a set of dishes from her.

After a long day of moving, we had a very informal meal at the beautiful table.

The larger couch didn't fit up the stairs, but I like how the smaller couch looks. Another thing that is so important to me is my little sewing station in the corner!

I have been unable to sew in my dorm room and absolutely cannot wait to be able to sew again! I could only bring about 1/4 of my fabric with me, though (for now anyway).

Alec has been enjoying being the handyman for our apartment. He jumps up to switch out light bulbs and has all these ideas for improvements. It is nice to see him excited about stuff like this.

This is my favorite part our our entire apartment so far. This "HOME" pillow is from my Grandpa's house and he recently passed away. It is nice to have my own place to call home.
I will be posting much more later. We still have a lot of unpacking to do and a lot of moving. For now, I have to try and focus on final exams and then I promise I will spend way more time sharing with all of you. I even have some D.I.Y.'s planned.

I begged my boyfriend to come with me to Luke since its the weekend of our one year, but he kept just saying no! But its fine because I'm just going to drool over Luke with my best girlfriends! ;)
I hope your move in to your apartment and such is going well! Starting to catch up on your life and can't wait to follow you along for the ride :)

    Good luck on finals!

First of all, when my husband and I moved in together...I was 19 and he was 23. That's the same age as you and your boyfriend, right? And if that's not enough....I just read your about page, and you're from Western New York?!? Holy crow, lady! I NEVER meet ANYONE in the blog world from my neck of the woods!!! I live in Amherst! :)
