Recipe Writers: Valentine's Day Goodies

Last month's recipes were fabulous. They inspired us all to eat healthy (if we actually ate healthy throughout the entire month is a different story entirely) and showed us how to combine ingredients in new ways. Did you try Kale, Quinoa and Sweet Potato soup from Martha, Jenn's ideas for Spaghetti Squash or Kelly's Protein Nut Butter Balls
Yum. Just, yum.
I'm sure you had a clue as to what this month's theme would be..because let's be honest, it is all over Pinterest right now:

Huge Cinnamon Rolls: the story of how I ended up with 3 feet of dough

I am not a chef. I do not own a bakery. I am a college student with a love for learning to cook and bake. This blog is where I share this learning process. The ups and the downs, the successes and the not-so successful attempts at making something delicious. Sometimes it tastes like bliss and looks like sh*t. All that matters is that I learned something from each experience, right?

I started yesterday with a craving for cinnamon rolls. I ended the night with a 3 foot long pile of dough.

My first Vlog!

Cheers to stepping out of comfort zones and trying new things.
Humor me, people. This is my first time on bloggy video!
Let me know what your ideas are for future vlog content, please!
Thanks for watching!

My Personal Sun Salutation Variation

I've been working on my yoga lately. I'll tell you...I only held this pose long enough to take one photo. The rest of the time was spent in free fall towards the floor or giggling with my mother so hard that we could barely breathe.
Do you ever have any blissful moments with your family like this where you can't stop smiling?

I also have had a bunch of people on Instagram ask me what routine I  use for yoga. I have taken many classes and do not follow videos during my daily yoga practice. So, I made this very unprofessional and sped-up video to show my basic "warm up" for yoga before I move into more difficult poses. I do this sequence about three times. The first time I hold each pose for about 2-3 breaths, the second time I spend 5 slow breaths in each pose and the last time I flow through the movements with about one breath in each pose. After that, I am warmed up enough to start pushing my stretches deeper.
Also, this is my first video of me on the blog, I think. I am really thinking about adding some vlog posts around here. Is this something that sounds like a good idea..something you'd like to see more of?

How do you do your daily yoga?
Have you tried yoga before? Do you want to?

I'd love to hear what all of you think!

A Road-trip to The City of Bridges

Remember my best friend, Kacie, who I went on this beautiful walk with? Well, her and I both have this urge to just hit the road and drive until we find the highest mountain to climb up and scream off of. We just want to be seeing things and doing things, meeting people and meeting places. Something about going to school for 17-18 years straight makes you stir crazy. It makes you want to stand up, march out of your class room and run into the world.

How to Organize Your Fabric Scraps

Is your pile/collection of fabric scraps overflowing like mine?
Is it unorganized?
Do you use it more as a fabric trash pile than a source of fabric for future projects?
If you answered yes to any of these questions..this post is for you!

A Little Escape

On Thursday, my best friend Kacie and I grabbed her pup and escaped from the "city life" for a little bit.

From A Mountaintop

I usually steer clear of the snow. It is pretty from my window, but most of the time I have no desire to be outside when it is outside.
 This year is different.

This year every part of me wants to be out hiking to the tops of mountains.
I want to do yoga on a mountain top.
I want to scream my heart out to nothing but mother nature.
I want to make hot tea on a campfire from melted snow.
I want to sleep on a quilt laden bed next to a wood stove.

Tumblr is my main source of inspiration.
Do you have a tumblr? I'd love to follow you.

Recipe Writers: Healthy Eating Link Up

Last month's Christmas Cookie dessert recipes were.so.absolutely.amazing. I seriously ate more cookies than any person every should. May I recommend these Thumbprints  from Vintage Zest, Snickerdoodles from Undeniably, Me,  and these beautiful Christmas Wreathe Cookies from Feeding Big?
Alright, enough of this sugar talk, my mouth is watering.
Now it is time for this month's theme:
Healthy Eating

Hello, 2014.

One of the perfect little gifts I received this Christmas

Hello, everyone.
I have been on a "bloggy break" apparently. It didn't happen on purpose, though.

Do you ever feel so motivated and productive with all of the things you are trying to accomplish? Does that motivation suddenly take a nose dive when you feel like you are trying to do way too much?
