My Personal Sun Salutation Variation

I've been working on my yoga lately. I'll tell you...I only held this pose long enough to take one photo. The rest of the time was spent in free fall towards the floor or giggling with my mother so hard that we could barely breathe.
Do you ever have any blissful moments with your family like this where you can't stop smiling?

I also have had a bunch of people on Instagram ask me what routine I  use for yoga. I have taken many classes and do not follow videos during my daily yoga practice. So, I made this very unprofessional and sped-up video to show my basic "warm up" for yoga before I move into more difficult poses. I do this sequence about three times. The first time I hold each pose for about 2-3 breaths, the second time I spend 5 slow breaths in each pose and the last time I flow through the movements with about one breath in each pose. After that, I am warmed up enough to start pushing my stretches deeper.
Also, this is my first video of me on the blog, I think. I am really thinking about adding some vlog posts around here. Is this something that sounds like a good idea..something you'd like to see more of?

How do you do your daily yoga?
Have you tried yoga before? Do you want to?

I'd love to hear what all of you think!

  1. Wow. Love the photo of you and your mom!

Great video. And it was a good idea to speed it up. Are those warm-ups the sun salutations?

I'd enjoy seeing more videos. More yoga would be nice. Maybe you could show how to do the tricky part of a recipe or how to go from row one of a crochet chain to row two. ;-)

  2. Wow, you and your mom are strong! I would be laughing too hard to hold that pose!!

I'd love seeing videos, especially yoga ones. I'm trying to get back into my daily yoga practice now that the holidays are past.
